Dean Purcell's exams? [29 Sep 2010|09:44pm]
ex_stateofb
Hey all, I'm currently taking PSY 311 (Sensation & Perception) with Dean Purcell. If anyone here has taken this or any other course with him, could you tell me what his exams are like? We are coming up on our first one and it's supposed to be short answers, but I don't know much else.

ATTN: students with a .edu email address [21 Jul 2010|11:28am]

backstabber
Amazon is offering a free 1 year subscription to Amazon Prime (Which usually costs $79 a year. Perks include free 2 day shipping, and $3.99 overnight shipping): http://amzn.to/bSH8jP (url shortened with bit.ly)

This is being marketed towards college students but all you need is a valid .edu email address, so teachers and alumni might be able to benefit from this too (though the Terms of Service does say they have the right to ask for proof that you are a current student).

I apologize if you have already heard about this amazing deal. I just want to help spread the word on this before they stop offering it. I am not an employee of Amazon, nor do I gain anything from people signing up for this service.

Okay, here's the deal.

I'm moving MAY 15th and i need to get rid of as much as possible. If you can give me $275 even, this computer is *ALL* yours. Take it or else i'm giving it to the Good Will. It's in great shape, runs well and i've completed upgrades. I'll even throw in a FREE Apple Keyboard (no joke).

Here's what you getCollapse )

Remember this thing needs to get out of my house BEFORE May 15th or else it basically gets thrown away. It would be a shame if i had to do that because like i said, it's a great computer. I'd even go as far as dropping it off at your convenience but we can meet to exchange. Whatever.

Please contact me by email or call 248.804.7599 if you have any more questions. Thank you! :)

genderpac

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young.  GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at:  www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.

I just have one question.

Did anyone here take PSY 344 (Behavior Analysis) with Prof. Lori Warner? I saw the schedule for the summer semester and it looks a bit difficult.

Please let me know what you thought of the class (and/or the professor).

Selling a ton of books! [04 Jun 2008|01:46am]

thedork1982
Hey everyone,

I'm finally trying to unload the big load of textbooks that I've been holding onto forever, for some reason. I guess I was lazy about it before...but now I'm broke, so things have changed! I have books from HST 102, WS 200, IS 270, ECN 201, PS 115, PS 314, EED 310, THA 100, PSY 100, PHY 106, GEO 200, IST 396, and RDG 333. (I know...I should just become an Ebay top seller.)

Because I've just posted all of the book info in two other places, and it took forever...I'll direct you to one of those two places. These are great places to remember for OU students to buy and sell textbooks!

If you have any questions, you can email me at bfspedos@oakland.edu. Thanks!

Help, need your opinion/comments : ) [15 May 2008|08:35pm]

jerryhelps
I am not sure if any OU students check their livejournal accounts anymore, but here goes:

Have you had (or heard about) any of the following professors at Oakland? Both are "Religious Studies" professors. They don't have any ratings at ratemyprofessors.com
-John Kinkel
-Daniel Shepherd

Also, what's your opinion about the following professors? I saw both positive and negative comments for them, so please help me out here.
-Lawrence Lilliston
-Sylvie Lombardo

Thank you in advance. I appreciate your help.

"OU Students against the apparent prohibition of snow days"
I think this about sums it up. I'm sure you guys are noticing that OU pretty much hates all of us commuters and doesn't give a damn about our safety during our commutes. With this group I hope to get more people to actively express their concerns as well. Join!

Does anyone know whether there is a student club or group for fiction writers, or how I could find this out for myself? I looked on the Oakland website a little and didn't find much. Thanks!

Spring Schedule? [14 Jan 2008|11:02pm]

wishonmystar517
Ha, I know the Winter Semester just started, but I am having a terrible time with one of my courses and the professor, and I want to know if I can take it with someone else in the Spring, or whether I have to stick it out.

Anyone know when the Spring Schedule will be released? Or if it is already, where is it?

Thanks very much

Does anyone have any books for these classes that they'd be willing to part with, for some sort of monetary fee?

PS 100 - Klemanski
HST 115 - Miller
BIO 110 - Fishwild

Thanks a ton!

Alright, I'm beginning to panic and I hope somebody can advise me on this...

I'm attempting to register for winter classes, and it's telling me one of the courses I really need to have is closed. I'm afraid I've waited too long, but I honestly have no clue what to do at this point. It's a biology lab I'm trying to register for, and I guess what I'm wondering is, can I take the lab at a later date and just take the biology class right now, or not?

Can anybody help?

ETA: Problem solved. Thanks for the help! :]

Does anyone have a copy of Mckay's Western Society by John P. McKay for HST 102 with Moran that they would be willing to sell? It would be very much appreciated.
